As to the amounts of discount & interest you charged up to us & which I paid without a word was not my fault, for I drew up B/c according to instructions, and I did not know that your agent collected a percentage on moneys sent to him. In our country even Banks do not charge their customers for collecting their money when it is kept as deposit. Now dear Bro. Petterson, with these facts, and your unprejudice and unselfish nature, and for the love you have for the progress of Christianity in this and other lands, I beg of you to look favorably on what I have written you, and see if you cannot continue to do our work as before. If you can I shall be very glad, and if you cannot see your way clear, write me fully, in every particular and plainly, I shall take no exception, I assure you. I am only trying to do the best I can for our beloved work. Our Mission, like all others, I suppose, in New Countries has wasted money enough to pay the salaries & expenses of quite a number of missionaries for several years. Now dear brother, I shall say good night & God bless you, and ask you to look upon our society, just the same as though it were your own and our missionaries as your brethren.
