Quite busy this day - going to the state & traders & doing some business - got 2000 francs from Portuguese Had some bills to pay the state for transport up the Kassai - Writing letters &c very busy - Went to Kinshasa today to pay bills - did some business with Dutch House - ate dinner at Mr. Gordon's - came back on train - very busy - State Holliday - Mr. Woolings went to Kinshasa, ate dinner with the Gordons - came back - decided to take a trip - Road journey on foot - Will leave Saturday next - I am still very busy writing letters & catching up with my work generally Made a list of the Westcott bros. loads to send to Lusambe on Princess Clementine. The "Brabant" left on Tuesday last for Kaut Congo. Sophie made a cake today for the Capt. Mr. Sjoblom of A.B.M.U. came tonight. Put loads on beach & receipted by Capt. - had a settlement with Welings - paid up with exception of 3000 read he had paid out for Me. while I was gone. Mr. Woolings left today. I took oversight of things. Mr. Sjoblom came to board with us until steamer came. He is a Swede & very curious - he has a mandolin - he calls it his wife. He sleeps in a house just opposite ours. He will preach tomorrow p.m. This a.m. N'Kaku & I had the Congo service - in p.m. Mr. Sjoblom had Eng. service & played the Mandolin & sang some Sweedish solos - some of the Congregation were Swedes - service was very good. Very busy today doing various kinds of work. I never will get straight again - just when I think I shall settle down to do something, something new comes up --
