went back to Mr. Scriviner's & Mrs. Crowley visited Mrs. Whitehead - then Mr. James Clark came up & we went to see his new house & over to his residence - after a nice little visit we went to the boat and about 10 o'clock we went away we camped at the French Side to get wood - & Mr. Banks with Henry Reed caught up with us & we camped together. Diarrhea not much better - but getting on fairly well-left very early this a.m. Nothing of importance happened. We camped about 1½ hours below "Lakelela." Mr. Whitehead's old place. I did not get up, but we went on in the night and arrived at "Lekalela" about 12 midnight - the men went out & got some chop - after which we went on, and being now, Thursday, we camped again for the night 3 hours below New Ereba where there is a native Evangelist. :- About 10 o'clock we arrived at New Irebo - we went up to see Frank's place - he has a school &c - some good towns near by - About an hour later Mr. Banks came on both steamers took wood - 4 o'clock we left - just as a storm commenced - one man had a great gash sawed with a crosscut saw in his arm & I sewed it & dressed the wound - 3 stitches we camped for the night some hours below Irabo proper. We left about 6 o'clock this a.m. we could have left earlier, but we thought Mr. Banks was behind us & would catch up so we waited on him After we had sailed about 3 hours we saw him stopped a little way below the mouth of the Sanga River - a catholic mission there - so we steamed on - and shortly after we passed we saw the Reed steaming out. We arrived at Irebo 12:55 p.m. and waited there 40 minutes. We did what business there was with the Commissaire & just as we started off we saw the Reed steaming around the point. Mr. MᶜGregor left some men there to go on the Reed, some 4 hours up to cut wood-we took on a little wood at the state wooding post, then we dropped some men across the channel at another wooding place to remain until the steamer would come back.
