I got over quite early and ate breakfast with Mr. Gordon & Dinner with Dutch people. The Ville de Bruxelles went by about 11 o'clock and I went up to the landing to find out when she was going, but she was only going to get some wood. In the p.m. I put 47 loads in a row boat & started up to the landing, but about ½ way we were to close to the shore & ran on a rock and it took some time to get off. Then the wind came up & kept us back about the time we were going to unload the capt. of the Deliverance told me I might put the loads on board his boat & he would take them to Leopoldville for me, so I did & we took the small boat back & I came home on my bike. Friday Feb. 10 - 99 This a.m. it rained & I bo't a lot of quanga & other things - after, I carried Mr. Vass' loads & 50 more to the Beach. I unloaded the goods from the Deliverance & made a snug pile of all 100 loads on the beach. I gave the boys some fish & the rest of the day and they were happy. Saturday Feb. 11 - 99 I went to the beach this a.m. to try & find out about the leaving of the boat, but nobody could tell me. In the p.m. the boat came in & the capt. did not know whethe he was going nor when. Every thing was made ready for Sunday - Good night.
