Leopoldville o'clock - Mr. Wooling came with his boys & we unloaded-& left the goods on the ground in charge of the boys only bringing to the house such things as were necessary - so we had supper with Mr. Wooling & fixed our bed & slept-contentedly - very tired though. Ate breakfast & dinner with Mr. Wooling. Had the goods brought from R.R. & began straightening around. Had supper at home cooked on a little heating stove out in the yard - Hope to do better soon. Much work today - trying to set up to house-keeping again-Everything scattered around - stove set up out of doors-bought 9 chickens at 40 cents each bought a goat - or rather a kid, Bag salt = 15 francs or $3°° - Nothing of interest - good night. Mr. Woolings preached to the Congo boys at 10 o'clock - I led in prayer several songs were sung &c. A good congregation. In the p.m. at 4 O'clock - Mr. Wooling preached again to the Accras. Mr. Faris & Mr. Morrey, were there at both services. No service at night, but we had our boys in for reading & they brought with them several others. I went over to the beach this a.m. to see the Commissaire and make arrangements to get Quanga (chop) for my boys. He willingly let me have it so I get 50 Quangas every 4 days - the Congo week is 4 days. Liminges or Sunday-Masi Ezali Tates Za 1 - Lumbu 2 - Lumbu 3 - Lumbu 4 - then a repetition-they hold a market in a district & each place for the market is one day & they also give the name of the day on which that market is held - the name of that place-for instance the market is held here at Leopoldville today - the native name of the place is Kintane - so the name of the day is Kintamo Markets are always held out on a big open place under a large tree - not in the towns. After making arrangements with commissaire I came back & counted out 250 pieces of brass wire that they call Ntaku - these I gave for my 50 Quangas. Kept at work
