sick man better - everything O.K. my cold better preparations for Sabbath - all well - good-night. No American mail yet. A lovely day - morning service by Mr. Morgan. Afternoon service by Mr. Pinnock. Night service at A.P.C.M. by Mr. Morgan. The 1st time we had service in our new quarters-Comfortably fixed once more. Good-night. I have been at work making a little store-room on the veranda. Nearly completed - have been looking after a sick man some. I cannot do much for he has a doctor & of course the Doctor must be right if he is wrong - however I never say a word. I over see a little also about tearing down the house I sold. I met an English-Scotch man today & invited him up to see us - while he was here some nice beef came in and we asked him to dine with us. We had a very good dinner & he seemed to enjoy it very much. Not being very well, I put him to work and we both finished the room & put up shelves & now I have about caught up. After supper I gave 3 white men medicine Tomaz, Silva (both Fortugees) & Mr. Bottama Dutch. I met Mr. Moutard a former acquaintance & he is Chef de Garre at Tumba. This a.m. I was called very early to see Capt. Cremonini a friend of mine who is sick with fever. I dosed him up and now he is much better thanks. I also went in to see my other sick friends and found them better. We are looking for the European mails tonight and we are busy also writing letters to catch the outgoing mails for this is the last day of greace. Now we shall have to say good bye for this time and write to our friends & loved ones at home. Good-by Sophie & Stephen. After writing yesterday I heard of a death - the brother of one of my friends Monsieur de Lavegnette. Poor fellowhe might have had better treatment. I went to the cemetery. He was a catholic & the Fere was there to pray for the dead. Last night we were greeted with mails from
