We are exceedingly anxious about the mails, for it is now 12 days or more past the time - we would like to hear from our friends and loved ones - but we must have patience and wait. Anyone who expects to live in Africa must learn to wait. The day has been uneventful. I went to the market to buy some sweet potatoes and other things. You will laugh when I tell you what I took with me to purchase them with, well, I took as money - 2 cards of common white buttons, & 3 pints of salt. I purchased with these articles ½ peck sweet potatoes, 3 doz. limes or lemons, and three nice bunches of fresh beans in the hull. Nothing else of importance. This a.m. after breakfast it began to rain, and continued until noon - a nice slow rain. Mrs. Graham is not very well this morning - this p.m., though, she hopes to be at school. Tomorrow our mails close for Europe & America so we must be ready for them. Tonight, D.V., I will finish about this day. When you read these notes you must always look on the opposite of the paper for you might find something of interest on them. You see, in order to save space & stamps, we write a letter on the opposite side of the sheets. Thus killing two birds with one stone. Sophie and I are both well, thank God. Tonight we had prayer meeting but only a few were present. Mr. Pinnock had the service. I have just finished copying a piece for Sophie which she has written for the children's missionary. I think it very nice. She thinks not. She did not want to send it, and would not unless I should copy it for her, so in order that it might go to interest the children I did it for her. Now she feels better about it - we are both well - and she has just finished some letters to be posted tomorrow. May God bless our Relatives, friends & ourselves. Sophie & Stephen. Messrs.
