Monday Jan. 17 - 1898 Nothing of importance took place today. I had a caravan come in but I will not be able to let them go off until tomorrow as they came so late. Oh yes! the train tonigh brought us some letters and papers from home we enjoyed them so much - we wish we could hear from home every day. Tuesday Jan. 18 - 1898 After loading my caravan this a.m. I had to buy a new license for the capeta. You see all licenses expire with the last day of the year. I wanted some tickets but ther were none at the state and so the capeta was allowed to go and not have the ticket, but they must be accounted fo at the end of the line just the same. Mrs. W. baby is very sick yet temperature still very high 104° to 105° Far. All others well. Good night. Wednesday Jan. 19 - 1898 The early part of the day was taken up in the various things which the missionary has to do with, and fortun-ately for the Crowley family all went well. But all day there were two anxious people, more anxious than all the rest of us for Mr. & Mrs. Wooding were carefully watch-ing and nursing their darling little child, a baby girl of 75 days old, who had fever for about 5 days and would not go down. Her temperature very high all the time. But alas! the trying time for the loving parents came at last. At 15 minutes past 5 o'clock in the afternoon today the sweet little darling was relieved from all pain and suffering and her soul went on angels wings to the loving arms of Jesus who when he was here said "suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of Heaven." Mrs. Graham laid out the little body and left it in its own little cradle for thenight. They are very sad but they bear it bravely They are both so thankful that the Lord spared the little one to them as long as He did - for it was a great bless-ing to them - and nothing has ever done them so much good as its appearance into their home - and in its death they were doubly blessed, for the found out that other people loved them and had sympathetic hearts and took interest in them. Heretofore, they stood aloof and tho't no one cared for them. Mr. Graham and I went over and notified the state authoroties of the death and made arrangements for its burial. good-night.
