Friday July 16 - 97 Mr. Von Eynde was ill & I gave him some medicine &c. sold him my deck chair for 6 francs 2 ks Rice & one tin peaches. Did the usual work &c. Mr. D'Angremond & Ohlenschlager & myself Mr. Morgan took sup with Mr. G. Mrs. G. was ill. Saturday - July 17 - 97 Again waited on Von Eynde & gave him medicine. Did all which was to be done. I send away 15 loads today, to the Pool. Sunday July 18 - 1897 It was my turn to take the Congo Service but I had NKaku, my head man do it for me. We had a large congregation. Mr. Graham gave out the announcements & made a closing talk. In the p.m. Mr. Pinnock preached to the Acras & Sierra Leon's. At night service was held at my house & Mr. Wooding was the leader - he read a chapter from a book written by Mr. Meyer of London. James Toff a mulatto was at service. Monday July 19 - 97 The ordinary duties of the week have had to be begun again. Mr. V. Eynde much better today. Tuesday July 20 - 97 Nothing more than usual took place. Some reading, - the work done &c. Wednesday July 21 - 1897 Just after chop Mr. Ohlenschlager sent for me for he was down with fever. I waited on him & and ministered to his wants and by tonight he is much better. Thursday July 22 - 97 Today Mr. O. is getting on nicely, no fever. I did all that is necessary to alleviate his suffering and so far all is well. Give the Lord the praise. Friday July 23 - 1897 This a.m. Mr. O. was getting on nicely-but at noon Mr. Vermij took fever. About 3 o'clock Mr. O. sent for me for he had relapsed into another fever by
