this a.m. & tonight. The Lord has blessed me and kept me from harm & danger. Blessed be His Holy name. I did very little work on the house as I had so much other things to do. Arose this a.m. feeling good and intended to do a big day's work on the house. The Wescotts came over and gave me a helping hand & Phipps got in about a full ½ day and we got on nicely. A caravan of 15 men came in and I loaded them up and sent them off. I had to fill out the manifesto, ticket paper for the state for Dr. Sims &c. Lots of work in this transport business, but if the Lord will only give me health and strength I will do it willingly. All in all I got in a good day's work. Here is another caravan of 14 men I have loaded them but they will have to wait until tomorrow before they go as the "receivieur de post" would not make out the capital's licence today. I got in a little more work &c but work moves along very slowly, when one has to build one house and attend to the other thing too work seems to progress slowly. Good night. By the Bye - this p.m. a large caravan of 23 men came in and it was a good chance for Bro. Phipps to get off to Stanley Pool in order that he might catch the 1st boat going up. So we hurried to make ready to get him off on the next morning. Again I say good-night. This has been a busy day. 23 carriers on hand this a.m. to go off with Phipps - Capeta somewhat of a humbug, very contrary about loads. Phipps ready by six o'clock but through the manouvers of the carriers it was nine o'clock before he started. But at last he got off o.k. I did a little toward the house but not able to do much on account of so many other things. After working awhile on my house I started for the cemetery where the sick Spaniard whom I have already mentioned was interred - he died yesterday, p.m. @ 3 o'clock and was buried this a.m. at 8 o'clock. As I say I started to the cemetery but there came up considerable wind and looked very much as though a storm
