am seated by a little table and a very nice supper is given me by Bro. Phips whom I find to be a very nice congenial fellow in the Work, and very spiritual. After supper we went the C.B.M. Station where I delivered a package to Mr. Wooding. There I met Mr. Forfeit, Morgan, Pinock (Col.), and Hill. I had a very pleasant visit, and went home and retired. I slept on Phip's bed & he slept on my bed-stead, which is a good cot. After re-tiring, we were so glad to meet each other that sleepi-ness had departed from us & our eyes stayed open and we talked until 2 in the morning. After awhile we went to sleep & we arose about 6 o'clock. Tues. Feb. 16 - 1897 After a refreshing sleep of only a few hours, for Phips & I talked until 2 o'clock we went down to the station and had my baggage bro't up. I met Mr. D'Angremond of the Dutch house and he invited me to chop with him which I gladly did. After we had the baggage carried up a car loaded with goods came in and we checked them. After which Phips paid some carriers who had just come from Dr. Sims at Stanley Pool. After a good dinner with my friend I went back to the house & began doing some work necessary for my living. The day, taking in all, was spent profitably, I hope. Wednesday Feb. 17 - 1897 A good night's rest and in good health, thank God. Began to make a door for my room, the frame of the house, is up - a small portion of the roof and one side weather boarded. I took dinner again with my friend and his car-penters having nothing to do he kindly lent them to me. And after dinner I brought two of them up with me and put them to work. Another profitable day, I hope. Thursday Feb. 18 - 1897 This a.m. I have three carpenters at work. My dutch friend's, and if they knew how to work as men do in America, it would not be long until I would have the house finished. I did not dine today with my Dutch friend, and this p.m. he came up to see about it - he thought I was coming, but I had no invitation, so of course I could not invite myself into a strangers house.
