N.B. saturday Sept. 16 ~ 99

# Nothing of interest today except preparing for the Lerd's
day #Sophie net well - but able to be up. A little
fellew, Lubaki, whe came to me and wanted werk is sick
and I have given him medicine.

Sunday Sept. 17 - 99 Laopeldville

I had a headache this a.m. I rung the bell, had the boys
get off te chapel fer service. NKaku preached & I came
back and rested and read my bible preparatory to the
Eng. service in the pom. Mr. Woolings is net yet come
back ~ In the pom. I went to service and only 2 men

came, they are sweedes - it is market dey and all the
people have their time taken up getting chop &c, then
there was a sale ~ or Vendu ~ at the State - a pelish
Engineer died and his effects were sold, it is strange
that Sunday is always picked out asa good day for a sale

Monday Sept. 18 ~ 99

This asm. I get up very early and sent the beys fer
Kwanga I went with them to the beach & had my parcel
put on board & letters for eur Luebo friends. I then «
came back and the beys brought back the full amount ef
Kwanga. I gave out chop for them and had breakfast. The
boat whistled and I meunted my wheel & away I went - I
got en board the boat, and went te Kinshasa te S.A.Be
there I mounted my wheel and rode to Belgika - from
there I went te Ndelo & saw some steam boats. I came
back te Mr. Gerdons & had dinner & tea after which we
both went over te Dutch Heuse & I got some matches.
Gerden be't a dress pattern fer his wife. I bade then
goed day & came heme - found a note from the Commissaire
that I ceuld have 25 charge en Ville de Bruxelles. I
alse found a note from the Judge that the little sick
fellew was wanted at 8 o'cleck tomorrow morning. Now
we have just had our usual evening service with the beys
and Mrs. Crewley taken her bath - se we shall say good
night & retire. God has blest us abundantly thus far -
has supplied all our needs - and cared for us. We
cannet see that we have done very much work for the
Master, but we know that the werd will net come back te
us in vain. Geod night.
