“Tchimberi" Aug. 9 - 99 Wednesday

I began making a Napkin ring for Mr. Christepher this
morning - I have a very sere toe ~ it bethers me terribly
I cannet walk much. Nothing of interest ~

*Tchemberi® Thursday Aug. 10 = 99

Went te werk on the Ne Ring this a.m. & had it nearly
finished at noon - after dinner I had gone te polish it
when we heard a boat. It was the Brabant. It plewed up
but did net step. I got inte a canoe & went te it &
asked the Capt. Otte te come in & take us dewn - He did
so - the 224 of board was an Eng. man, Jehnson - the
3rd @ Swede « the capt. gave us the Gev. Gen. Cabin and
we ate supper with the capt. en the bridge ~ Nice room -
geed beds Every convenience - Geod night.

8.8. "Brabant" Friday Aug. 11 ~ 99

Last night we slept about an heur belew Tchimberi and
was away early this asm. Arrived at Kwa. Meulte about
11 e'cleck Met Haineut ~ Inspectuer Cestumas & some
others on beard. I gave a letter with a key in it to
Gapt. ef Haineut te put off at Tchimberi - I hepe he
will deliver it - we camp tonight at a weeding away dewn
this side. A nice large deck to walk about on -Geed nigh

“At Heme" Saturday Aug. 12 - 1899

We arrived at Lee. this a.m. about 9 o'clock & got home
abeut 10 - the boys met us at the beach and browght up
eur things. Met. Mr. Weelings at his house we found
everything ok. except one parret had diede We found
everything in a mess - but we went te werk straightening
around. I had expected Mr. Weelings to be ready te
leave when we arrived - but he had about decided to wait
and go up te Stanly Falls in Nov. or Dec. with Mr.
Grenfell - so we need not have hurried se much had we
knewn it - geed night

Sunday Lee. Aug. 13 - 99

Heuse tern up. Service by Mr. Woelings in the merning
we had dinner with Mr. Woolings. He also had another
guest a Mr. Jones - capt. ef Steamboat - Englishman. In
the p.m. I had service with the English speaking peeple
after service some of men stepped a few minutes.
