We have a great time selling Mangos, end today we sold
quite a number 1 mango for 2 brass rods ~ the people
could steal all they need for they pass through the ground
but they are afraid, and buy. In p.m. I went to the Post
office - posted a letter and was told that 24 passengers
were expected up from Matadi. I went down to the docks
and saw the new boat and had a little chat with the com-
missaire Nothing else worth putting on paper - so I

will mention that Sophie and I are both well - and say
good night.

have two parrots and they are learning to talk nicely -
one of them we call baby speaks several works - &

coughs as though it was some one who had a bad cold -

she is quite a mimic - the other one is a regular chatter
box = & talkes to the hens &c - is not so nice and affec-
tionate as the other and does not cere to be fooled with
very much, but the other (baby) will kiss you & lowes to
be made of. Tonight we both wrote letters - Sophie has
written one for Millie's paper - I wrote on for a La.
friend & he says he wants to publish it - perhaps you
will get a paper - Good-night.
