Early this a.m. it rained some - and I did not go-to the
beach to see the boat off ~- later in the a.m. the steamer
Peace of B.M.S. came in to the state beach - shortly after
she arrived it bagan to rain terribly - and kept it up
until after dinner - immediately after we had dinner I
went te the beach & Mr. Grenfell came up with the boat

to our landing and stayed with us and had tea about 3:00
o'clock - the raid did not cease - but he went to Kinshasa
anyway. He said Mrs. Gordon & Dr. Fleming might be down
tomorrow. About 6 o'clock p.m. the steamboat “Deliverance!

been very feeble for 2 months & continued to work all the
time - se he died just before getting into port. After
supper Hr. Morrey & I developed some photographic plates
and the only fairly good picture among those that we

took was broken in three pieces - perhaps I can get some
good prints never-the-less. Mr. Morrey is taking his
plates out they got fogged he left the candle burning -
(forgot it)= good night.
