Friday April & - 1898

Gave some sick people. some medicine & did the other work
about the place. About 8 o'clock this eve a crowd of ..
Accra & sierra Leone men came to have a good Friday
service - they are all Wesleyians or Episcopalians ~ and
they are taught to observe Good Friday. None of the
others would acommodate them en such short netice but I
did. There was a big crowd, but instead of saying much
about the day, I gave them a goed sound gospel lecture -
and they seemed very muck pleased - I made no apology or
excuse.

Saturday April 9 - 1898

A bright sun-shiny morning and not much te be done today,
except prepare for Sunday. Sophie is having the boys
scrub the floors & sweep of the lawn - Lubait of Chemin
de Fer killed a beef today and I went down & got the
heart. Stuffed ox-heart is rare you know - and exceed—
ingly fine. No one here knows how to prepare it except
Sophie & I am the only one who appreciates it. Sometimes
we divide with the neighbors, but we only give them
enovgh to make them hungry for it, and they prounounce it
delicious. Mr. Woolings went home or at least started
for Stanly Pool today about 10 o'clock. good-night -

all well
