Tuesday Mar. 29 ~ 1898

Cremonini & Raskin came up and looked at the house - I
asked 5000 francs - but finally I agreed if he would pay
for it at once I would deliver it to him by May 15. We
agreed. In the p.m. Cremoni came and we fixed up the
contract.

Wednesday Mar. 30 - 98

Busy on books. Mr. & Mrs. Wilks & Mr. Wooding came in at
12 o'clock - all of C.B.M.C.B.M. are to have a com.
meeting soon to decide about tearing down and moving
buildings. Mr. Pinnock had the meeting tonight.

Thursday Mar. 31 - 1898

I sent some soap & biscuits to Dr. Sims today and 2 loads
for Wescott Bro's. Mr. Raskin went to Matadi this a.m. -
Mr. Morgan & Mr. Wooding were with us for dinner - we had
a nice steak it only cost $19°. I got some potatoes from
Mr. Vanden Eyndi He is a R.R.e man and very good in his
way He is a dutch man and all dutch-men are good. He is
sick and will do something for him. Good-night. All well.

Friday April 1°t 1898

April fooll Yes Sophie fooled me the very let thing this
ame After Breakfast I was fooled again by a native boy
who wes told about the 1st of April being all fools day.
So you see even in Africa jokes are played on the innecent

Saturday April 2 - 1898

I went around to see the sick man but he had gone off to
work. Mr. & Mrs. Wilks whom I mentioned before are on
their vacation going to Europe. Mr. Wooding is down for
a meeting of the C.B.M. Com. Mr. Domijoy will be up from
Matadi on Monday. - I am to have the service tomorrow p.m.
but have offered to-or at least invited Mr. Wooding to tak
it he has agreed. Good~night.

Sunday April 3 - 189&

Mr. Graham preached this a.m. We had communion ~ quite a
goodly number was present. A good many missionaries too-

my turn this p.m., but Mr. Wooling, a visitor took it and
