we are both well. We had the usual services today. Mr.
Weoding in the a.m., Hr. Graham p.m. & Mr. Weeding in the

less bey to us & we took him in and will take care of him
It is queer, but many koys come to the missienaries for
homes. Mr. Silva is quite sick, one of my friends, thie
time he has called in the Dr. and I have ne hand in the
Dr's patients enly to pay a friendly visit. Good night.

This asm. I called en my sick friend and found him better
as he thought. I then went te see some other friends &
found all well. Mrs. C. spent the morning in making some
clean clothes fer the little bey whe came to us yesterday
Re is quite a nice looking little fellew since he is
cleaned and dressed up. H goes to scheol and is quite ap
I have a class in English and they are very interresting.
I went to see Mr. Silva again this p.m. & found him with
fever. We are now writing letters for the outgoing mails
in a few days. Good night.

Tuesday Feb. 22- 1898

T went to see my sick and convalescent friends--all in
good condition except Mr. Silva, and he has the Dr. at-
tending him. The doctors don't seem to know as well as
the missionaries what is necessary in sickness. The
usual labors in the morning. In the after noon Mrs. 0.

& I beth wrete out or wills as te the dispesition to be
made of our Cong belongings, in case either should pass
eff before the other, should it be our let while in the
Conge State. Explanation - every bedy, missionaries es-
pecially, make their wills, because the law of the state
is, that the property of any ene deceased, that any one
whe has not made a will, his or her, no matter, married
er single, property must be sold by the State and 10% go
te defraying expenses. Some whe have died witheut a will
have caused no end of trouble and expense. Se you see it
is enly fer precaution and customary for all missionaries
te de so. I went to the sale this p.m., and bought some
things, which belenged to a man who had died some months
ago. I merely wanted to see what they did. I did not by
them for myself, however. Mrs. C. is getting on nicely
in school.
