Thursday Dec. 9 - 1897
We have had a very pleasant day ~ but exceedingly busy.
Sophie has been darning Dr. Snyder's stockings and mend-
ing his clothes getting everything ready for him to start
on his journey to the Pool.

After a hard time trying to scrape up a caravan for
him and Mr. Jeffreys we managed to get them off by 5
o'clock this pom. by sending some of my working boys and
some of the B.M.S. workmen - and then I got 3 work men
from Mr. Ohlenschlager. The Dr. was so anxious to go
that he loft some of his things to follow later.

Friday Dee. 10 - 1897

I tryed to find a coffee pot this a.m. but there is none
in any of the stores in Tumba. I met a Mr. M°Clentock
from Chicago and he called. He has been in the employ of
the Dutch House. He is leaving Africa - or rather Congo~
and going to the Transvaal. We must now make an order
for some provisions. We are both well. 8. & S.
