Sunday June 13%h '97

This asm. service was held by Mr. Graham & while in
service Mons. Matars & Baket came in ' had then come
over to my house & they promised to come over to service
this pem. Mr. Kirkland preached. We had a very full
house & there were 8 men in attendance who had never
been before. I think they enjoyed it very much they
seemed interested D'Angremond & Ohlenschager promised
to come to church tonight. we had supper & with thea
the new man Mr. Vernij came teo I was the preacher & they
never had been before but they said they enjoyed it very
much. They de not understand English the very best & I
talked or rather spoke very distinctly & they said they
enjoyed it very much.

My text was in the 2374 of Job & the 18t clause of the
10tP verse "but he kmoweth the way that I take." after
the service we all sat & talked for a short time & I
walked a piece with them & came back & wrote this.

Monday June 14 ~ '97

Net much done today. I went to see some friends who were
ill & spent the day mostly away from home. Mr. D'Angre-
mond was desirous of having all the missionaries eat with
him, & he and I have arranged everything necessary for
them to dine with him tomerrow. I went by BMS. & told
then of the expeeted visit for them tomorrow & they were
glad of it.

Tuesday June 15 - '97

This aem. after doing the little things necessary before
breakfast, I rec'd a note from Mr. D'Angrenond saying
that he was so busy today & nothing good te chop that he
thot it better to postpone the dining. I however had
already apprised them of the possible pleasure in store
for them. I did not tell them of the note I received but
went down to my friends & we got to talking over the mat-
