him with a temperature of 103° & immediately went to
work to relieve him. Everything had good effect & at
4 o'clock he was up. I ate dinner with D'Angremond. I
teok 1000 Francs to Mr. Burteon & asked him to deliver
them to Londe which he agreed.

: Tuesday June 18* 97

I arose early and went to the station to see my friend

Burteou off & had a cup of tea with D'A. I had my

patient sleep in a room which has net yet been cleaned

up but he is so lazy & filthy while sick that I cannot
allow it again. He does not mend very fast. After
supper I went down to Belgika & gave & book & the Chris-
tian Observer to Captain Arimmini. He is an Italian but

seems to like me very much and I want to keep him so. I

found him in bed but he got up & took them. I then went

around & called on D'A and had a very pleasant little
chat. Good night.

Wednesday May and 1897
Again I worked some on the varandah & have the west side
about complete. D'A.sent a note asking if we had any
carriers going to the Pool I had none but I found that
Mr. Ellis was going & asked him if he would take it & he
readily agreed, so this p.m. I went down to the office &
stepped in awhile. We came very near missing Mr. E. who
left about 3. I had some Pine apple with D'A.

Nothing else.

Thurday, June 3, '97
I forgot what took place as I have neglected for several
days to put down what happened.

Friday June ath 'O7

Mr. Ohlensligher & I went hunting we went down the R.R..-
turned to the left & went through the village of Tumba
across the country & back to Tumba we shot nothing.
Again nothing of importance has taken place. I took
supper with D'A & he made me a preposition to come &
board with him if the Dr. left. I agreed.

Saturday June 5*® 197
I thank God that I am in good health & I hope the good
Lord will keep me so. Monies time was up today & I paid

him off. Leze's also & I paid him off. I was glad to
get rid of hin.
