at Dunmanway. She was very nice until after we
transferred from the Bandon sta. to Dublin & Queens-
town sta. She expected some friends to meet her but
they did not come and that seemed to upset her. We
Boarded the train together again at 12:20 p.m. and
rode together as far as Limerick where she changed
cars for her home. The fare from Gork to Dublin was
17/7 the ride quite tedious but through a most beau-
tiful country. After passing Limerick I fell into
conversation with a Miss Joyce who the day before
landed at Queenstown - she had just come from N.Y.
where she had been for two years. Her home was in
Dublin ~ she was a very pretty girl. A catholic
priest also rode in the same compartment with us for
some distance. We. arrived at Dublin after dark 5:30 ~
the days in this country are from sunrise 7 asm. to
sunset 4:45 ~ and I found the Brazen head Hotel where
I put up for the night. After looking around Dublin
quite a good deal, I retired. the hotel was a regular
Irish House run by an old maid. A very pretty Red
headed girl waited on table.

we made the voyage across the Irish Seas very pleasant.
The sea was very calm and no sign of or symptoms of
sickness came over me. We both had dinner - luncheon +
on the boat. The cost 5 s. Arriving at Holyhead we
boarded the train, I for Liverpool & he for Orewe. My
fare from Holyhead to Liverpool was 8/6. Mr. Souther-
land held a 2 class ticket, but in order to be with
me he rode in a 3™° class coach as far as Chester, one
of the oldest cities in Eng. and a very historic place.
At this place Duke of Westminister resides. The Estates
